Abrams Group Construction has access to more than 50 debris hauling crews, 70 bucket trucks, and several first responder companies suited to embark upon every aspect involved with the cleanup of any city, county, or state following a natural or man made disaster. Our experience includes applying practical and cost-effective solutions during the demolition and removal of more than 2,000 personal residences in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Also successfully managed and coordinated more than 50 teams consisting anywhere from 3 to 12 members each.

Contracts managed during the cleanup of Hurricane Katrina:

  • Plaquemines Parish Government Debris Removal: As a subcontractor for the $4.4M contract; removed Hurricane Katrina related storm debris, trees/stumps, white goods; and demolished 320 homes.

  • Plaquemines Parish Government Debris Removal, Asbestos Properties: As a subcontractor for this $3.7M contract, removed all regulated asbestos containing materials (RACM).  Demolished 205 homes. Removed storm debris, trees and tree stumps, and white goods.

  • Plaquemines Parish Government Related Storm Debris Removal, Stump Removal, Leaner & Hanger Removal, Demolition: As a subcontractor on this $3.5M contract; removed Hurricane Katrina related storm debris, and demolished 390 homes.

  • Plaquemines Parish Government Debris Removal: As a subcontractor for this $1,995,660 contract, surveyed and demolished 1,200 homes.

  • Plaquemines Parish Canal/Drainage System Clean-out: As a subcontractor, responsible for cleaning out 172 miles of canals and drainage systems, demolition of 6 homes, and removal of 70,000 cy vegetative debris and 2,100 cy of C&D debris.
